According to Yulia Navalnaya, its purpose is to support those who carry on his legacy and refuse to stay silent in the face of injustice. She highlighted one of Navalny’s earliest and most influential projects—RosPil, which exposed corruption in Russia’s government contracts.

“I feel that grassroots initiatives are often overlooked. They struggle to survive. Every year, on Alexei’s birthday, I want to honor those who continue his fight,” Navalnaya said at a memorial event in Berlin.

The first award is expected to be presented in 2025.
